The Makeup Artistry course through IMUA is very informative and well organized. I am glad that this course was available during a time when not many classes were happening in person so I could continue to educate myself.
I learned many new techniques and applied what I had learned while doing makeup for proms and weddings, with great results. The video tutorials were very easy to follow and the online textbooks were filled with information on products, techniques, the industry, and makeup history, among many other topics.
Additionally, I received very helpful feedback and constructive criticism from my tutor. She pointed out many things that helped me improve my skills, and gave great insight on how to create an online portfolio.
Big thank you to IMUA for this wonderful course and excellent tutors! I have learned so much and I feel I have taken a big step towards my future career goals.
This course was incredibly helpful. It helped me place myself out of my comfort zone and helped me experiment with new products and techniques.
It also taught me a lot about professionalism and hygiene.
When I began this course I had no direction in my makeup career and only the skills that I picked up from self-teaching.
This class has solidified my knowledge of the fundamentals of beauty makeup, has introduced me to the fascinating world of special effects makeup and has been an invaluable resource in learning how to be a working makeup artist.

The world can be a busy, whirlwind of information. Sometimes you have a full-time job or sometimes you're a full-time mom/dad and you don't have a set schedule to dedicate towards school.
The Institute of Makeup Artistry gives you the tools and support you need to achieve your dreams whilst also keeping your day-to-day life on the right track.
Student Support is always available and always helpful. The tutors are supportive and give the best constructive criticism to help you become the best makeup artist you can be.
In addition to the support, directly from IMUA, the Facebook group of all the students/alumni is always helpful. It's inspiring to see the work others are creating and if you ever need help and/or want to share your creations, it's like having a big group of friends in your corner!
I really wish I could give IMUA a hug for everything; I'm so excited to venture into the world of makeup artistry and I feel confident in my skills thanks to this amazing course.
The course was amazing, I thoroughly enjoyed each of the 12 modules.
The modules really allowed me to touch on makeup applications I had not done before and although at times I found them challenging I learned so much from them, this helped grow my confidence, creativity and skills in makeup.
My online tutor was very helpful and always there to help with any questions or concerns I had.
The video guides were clear and easy to understand taking you step by step through each module.
Lastly the Facebook group set up was a really special place to be in touch with other students for moral support and to see the work from others and their creativity!

I have absolutely loved this course! The knowledge and experience is definitely one-of-a-kind! Along with the quick responses from the Tutor as well as Student Support, the Facebook group introduced me to some amazingly talented people.
It was so fun to be able to talk to and work with other students who have the same interests as you and they are so unbelievably supportive! This course is self-paced which I absolutely loved as I did not feel rushed or pressured to turn in any assignment within a certain time frame. This allowed me to take my time and show the tutor the work I am capable of producing. The tutors were not rude at all and their feedback was so incredibly helpful.
I am so thankful to have come across this course and cannot wait to see where this new set of knowledge and skills take me!!
